Frequently Asked Questions

Are mentors and professional coaches available to talk outside of scheduled meetings?
Yes. SWEET's vision is to facilitate clinician's empowerment and SWEET strives to accomplish this by providing as much value as possible to as many clinicians as possible in the most tailored and individualized way possible.
I see you have group supervision. How do you determine the group designations?
Some supervision groups may include clinicians or advocates from a specific type of practice-a group of forensic social workers, for example. Other groups can be based on common need, or level, or include a group of supervisors or directors. In any group supervision, the composition is well thought out to ensure that everyone receives the maximum benefit.
Can I get supervision or mentoring on an as-needed basis, or do I have to come weekly? Is this a schedule I can create with my supervisor or mentor?
Group supervision occurs monthly, and the members of the group and their feedback and processing in supervision are essential to how the group functions. Individual supervision is offered on a case-by-case basis.
Do supervision hours count toward my licensure?
Yes, they can. However, in order for them to count toward licensure, the following requirements must be me: Your employer must be the payer of the services. You cannot pay your supervisor directly. You must sign a consent form stating that the SWEET Institute/Dr. Sidor Psychiatric Services has the ability to provide the appropriate level of clinical supervision. Your clients also need to sign a consent form allowing us to access their records.
How does the supervision SWEET provides affect my workplace supervision?
Our supervision is geared towards prevention of burnout, allowing a safe space to process, to work on countertransference, and to promote clinical growth. Supervision with SWEET follows a strict consultation model. It in no way serves as a substitute for your agency supervisor. Please follow your agency supervisor’s clinical recommendations when making final decisions on client care.
Do you provide any online courses?
We absolutely do! We have live-online webinars and self-study webinars. Please check out our services to see all our webinar offerings.
If I’m an employer of social workers, how can I contract with you to provide supervision and CEUs for my staff?
To discuss a professional development program that can be customized to support your social work staff, please email either Mardoche Sidor, MD, our CEO and President, or Karen Dubin-McKnight, LCSW, PhD, our COO and Vice President at [email protected]. They will be happy to discuss the needs of the best options for your staff.
What kinds of payments do you accept?
We are able to accept all major credit cards.
Are SWEET membership OR registration expenses tax deductible?
The SWEET Institute is a professional organization. Your membership payments are therefore considered professional and education expenses. Please speak with a certified accountant for further details on this.
What do I do if I am dissatisfied with SWEET services?
It is essential to us that anyone who attends our courses feels that it has been an excellent learning and beneficial experience. We value feedback as crucial, to ensure a high-quality service. We take this very seriously for continuous quality improvement. At every SWEET Institute course, there will be a staff member observing the course instruction. This staff person is available to everyone present who wants to provide real-time feedback. All attendees will also be asked to complete an evaluation of the course and the instructor. All feedback will be provided to the instructor as an ongoing learning opportunity.SWEET has a money back guarantee policy for any SWEET experience rated at a 2/5 or lower.
