Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Psychotherapy Practice Group?
This is a 90-minute group where clinicians and coaches get to practice the learning and training from the one-year Psychotherapy Certificate Course.
Is this only for those attending the one-year Psychotherapy Certificate Course?
No, anyone can attend. This is because: 1. While the discussion will be related to the practice of the materials of the Psychotherapy Certificate Course, a lot of soft skills on how to best help the clients apply the materials and do the exercises will be emphasized. These soft skills will be helpful to everyone. 2. Anyone can use the practice group to get to experience the practice of this psychotherapeutic model prior to signing up for the one-year course.
How is this Practice Group different from the one-year Psychotherapy Certificate Course?
The one-year Psychotherapy Certificate Course is systematic, methodical, and has pre-set milestones for everyone to meet so they can meet their certificate requirements. The Practice Group is auxiliary to the Certificate Course, in that it helps facilitate the process for all Course participants, allowing them to review essential concepts that may need further clarification. The Practice Group will also help course participants bring questions they may have as they implement the model with their clients.
How often does this Practice Group meet and for how long?
This Practice Group will meet twice a month, every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, from 7-8:30pm Eastern Time. The Practice Group will run parallel with the Psychotherapy Certificate Course. It will, therefore, start and end around the same time as the one-year Psychotherapy Certificate Course.
What is the setup for this Practice Group?
While the Practice Group will not be as systematic and methodical as the Certificate Course, there will be a framework. There will be some flexibility within the following framework: A. 1st 1/3: Opportunities are given to any participant to ask any questions about any of the concepts or materials of the course; B. 2nd 1/3: Opportunity for any participant to present a clinical case related to the application of the psychotherapeutic model; C. Last 1/3: Opportunities to review the last two classes presented during the Certificate Course preceding the Practice Group of that week.
Is this Free?
If you have been a SWEET member prior to 2021 or a participant of the one-year Psychotherapy Certificate Course, this is free for you.

"There was a lot of practical material I can implement with my clients. The facilitator was excellent, covering a lot, and interactive with the participants actively. The clarity and usefulness of how to get unstuck , both clients and therapists, the role play. I felt welcomed, and my personal questions regarding technical aspects of the webinar were answered quickly. Great way to spend 2 hours productively, w/o feeling rushed."

"I found it to be captivating and engaging. I also found that it provided techniques to actually use, whereas other trainings do brief overviews and do not offer much to take away, this was great. I also loved how people's questions were answered and how even though it was virtual, people were engaged."
