Spanish Speaking Skills: Establishing a Strong Therapeutic Relationship with Your Spanish Speaking Client (Self-Study)
Self-Study
SELF-STUDY WEBINAR
This seminar is clinically-based for anyone invested in improving their skills.
For only New York State Licensed LMSWs, LCSWs, LMHCs, and CASACs, 2 CEUs are available once the post-test and evaluation are completed.
You know your successful work and outcomes depend on a strong therapeutic relationship. You know making use of an interpreter takes away this opportunity, and you know that your assessment will be unreliable unless a connection is established.
You then ask, how do I do that when I don't speak Spanish? Whether you are covering for a Spanish speaking colleague, or have to do a one time or short term assessment for a monolingual Spanish speaking patient or client, possessing the Spanish language skills to establish a strong therapeutic relationship can transform your career more than you can imagine.
Join us, add a skill to your toolkit, position yourself to better help your patient, client, enhance your career, and agency
At the end of this webinar you will have:
- Spanish words and phrases that are key in a clinical setting;
- How to develop rapport with Spanish-speaking clients and their families;
- How to assess the psychosocial history and other clinical information;
- Tools to enhance your overall clinical work and professional development;
- Cross-cultural concepts to consider in working with Spanish-speaking patients.
