Have you heard the truth that: “We set goals not for what we get; rather for what we get to become while working on achieving these goals”? This axiom is one of the pillars of goal setting in therapy. And if, as Karen Horney said, “We’re all driven to self-actualization,” and if self-actualization is defined by the slogan, “What a man can be, he must be,” we then ought to look at ways to help our clients live in their purpose, know how to change their behaviors, and know how to form desired habits.
